I am walking to raise awareness for sickle cell disease, a painful and debilitating genetic illness that affects more than 100,000 Americans, who live with crippling pain and significantly increased risk of stroke and premature death. My colleagues and I at Fulcrum are actively working to discover a functional cure for this devastating disease.
